Omen laptop help?

Hello, my name is Pat. Ive had a laptop that I bought on Amazon and it's only given me problems since I've had it. I don't want to give up on it cause I spent like 2k on it. But idk what to do anymore. I don't want to overload this message but it's an hp omen laptop and it shuts off when it runs gtav for like an hour or so. Im assuming it's just shutting off to save its components but I took it to a shop and they said it was fixed but it's still doing it and it feels like I just threw away 2k I saved up awhile for this too. Idk. Any help would be appreciated. I'm new but I know there is a message system on here so I'll reply to any specifics needed. I just really need some help. I really appreciate whoever even considered reading this.

Update: it just boots and shuts down.

Please state which Omen Laptop exactly, which model, components etc. More detail the better, we need to know what we are working with here.

 

Next thing would be the question whether you run the thing on a clean table, or actually on your lap, pillow etc. Are the fans ramping up and getting loud?

My suspicion is that it overheats, so check the temperatures or whether the fans and heatsinks are clogged with dust.

 

Otherwise, contact the HP support if it is still in warranty.
