Why does it say I need both ARAM2 and ARMA3 for the mod? will it work with just ARMA2?

Just Arma 2. You can actually buy Arma 2 OA and get Arma 2 Free and it will work.

You NEED Arma 2 OA. Download Day Z commander it's the easiest way.

once my Paypal and my bank settle everything out I'll get it. is the Mod more fun than the stand alone? I don't have anyone to play with in the stand alone so it gets kinda boring

Well its the same except the lack of cars but does not have as much of a survival aspect like the standalone does. I got Arma not just for DayZ but more Wasteland.
