MAC to PC

Go to solution Solved by ImWilly,

Welcome to the PC Master Race, fam!

Here's my note of suggestion:

1800USD is quite a generous budget, currently Ryzen 7800X3D is the best for gaming, so it's a better choice

CPU Cooler, Thermalright offers better performance with  with less than half of the price

RAM is not bad, but adding a bit more $10, you will have a better latency

Motherboard, Gigabyte AORUS B650 ELITE performs better in booting time and better cooling, so additional $30 wouldn't be a deal breaker

Storage, as current gen B650 mobo supports Gen5, but SSD NVME Gen5 is still expensive, a bit step down to Gen4 is still a good choice, so Samsung 980 Pro would make sense (for Windows OS and game directory). While 970 can be used as mass storage

GPU, Currently RX 6950 XT is on great sale, so upgrading to that is the best choice

Case, Phanteks P400A is a good inexpensive (and already included 3+1 fans) and nice mesh at front panel for dust filter, Gamers Nexus give good regard of this product for good price and cooling

Budget (including currency): 1,800USD

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:(Data science major) Excel,R studio, Jet Brains Suite, Rainbow Six siege, racing games, AAA titles, eventually want to try vr games!

Information on the build itself- I'm switching from mac to windows and everything will be fresh. To begin as far as part prefrences I would like to keep the same "quality" or Industrial rigidiy that i experienced at apple. Im not to big on RGB but I do appricate white lights on black. Im going for a more industrial look and feel. I want to use this desktop as my main computer for everything.  As for peripherals, I'm leaning towards Logitech because they are familiar from the mac world and they've never done me wrong. For monitors I got the COSTCO special 2 years ago {Msi 27in 1080p 175hz monitor} and I don't mind 1080p gaming since I've been only used to XBOX all my life. Ive attached a screenshot of my part list from pc part picker.

Low profile RAM so that it doesn't impede that dual tower cpu cooler.

In most countries around the world, there are virtually no games currently being developed for VR. People thought 8 years ago that VR would be a big breakthrough, but if you follow what games are currently being developed you quickly start to realize that VR gaming is not going to amount to anything at all in the next 6 years.
