Is it possible for the temperature reading of my cpu  (Ryzen 5 5600x) to be inaccurate .Out of the blue about a year ago I heard my fans start to ramp all the way up before my computer turned itself off. I had originally thought the AIO was at fault and not wanting to troubleshoot it I just installed the stock cooler and called it a day. This worked for a while as the computer was able to run high performance tasks easily. That was up until last week when I installed a new ssd. while I had everything open and unplugged i though I would to some cleaning. This included taking out the cooler and the cpu and cleaning off then reapplying thermal paste. now I had the same problem my cpu was running extremely hot. just to be sure I had removed the overclocking profile (which was running just fine) and reinstalled the AIO (I made sure the pump was working before reinstalling and it was). To be careful I even had my friend come over and apply thermal paste (incase I was the problem). Now the CPU is running even hotter idling at over 100c and crashing as soon as I launch a game. My only possible theory as to what is happening is that somehow the temperature reading is incorrect is this even possible?
