Hi, I'm helping a friend build a pc and have a question about ram clearance. He's decided he wants the Corsair 4000d airflow case (link to case - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C7BGV3D?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) and I'm curious whether a 280mm aio will fit on above with the currently selected ram. Nothing has been ordered yet, but I'm just trying to plan ahead. The current ram of choice is 2x16gb sticks of DDR5 G.Skill Flare X5 Series (link to ram - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1TKSDKR?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1). To anyone with a similar setup, or who knows anything about this, will an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280mm aio (link to aio - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WP6M7P7?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) fit with the current ram choice? I think it's worth it to get the 280mm aio instead of the 240mm version IF it will fit. Just want to have a rough idea so we don't have to return parts and halt the build.

Thanks

The Arctic Liquid Freezer II AIO are significantly thicker than others. There are mixed reports of the 280 fitting in the top of a 4000D. An issue often reported is motherboard VRM heatsinks interfering. However, it can be front mounted. Which avoids any memory clearance issues.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

But what about with this specific ram, it looks like it doesn't have too big of a heatsink. Do you think I could get away with top mounting? I'd like to stay away from front mounting a 280mm rad because the tubes would have to go on top.

Flare are 33mm tall and considered low profile.

There are a number of threads on Reddit discussing the issue. As I said previously, mixed reports. Is the 5000D Airflow an option?

That's not a bad idea. I will check out the 5000d and see if my friend likes it. I will also check some threads out to see stuff about that. Thank you.
