I'm upgrading from a RX 6600 to a RX 6950 XT, so a new PSU is required. Some comments for chosing between my final five options would be appreciated 🙂

- Corsair RMx Series 2021 RM1000x => 170 €

- EVGA SuperNOVA P6 1000 => 165 €

- Thermaltake ToughPower GF3 1000W ATX 3.0 => 164 €

- Phanteks AMP v2 P1000G ATX 3.0 => 160 €

- be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 1000W ATX 3.0 => 145 €

1000w is a lot but should be good for future proofing, especially since I will also upgrade my CPU sometime. Future proofing is also why I lean towards the ATX 3.0 models. I think these options are pretty similar except the price and the listed connectors (for exemple the be quiet one offers only 6x SATA) . Any thoughts on the options? What would u buy?

Also I'm not sure if I should take the 8-Pin EPS12V into any consideration?

My soon to be build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yYXhPF

Region: Germany

1000w is quite a lot.. I run a 7700x and overclocked RTX 4080 on my RM750i.  I would go with either the Corsair RMx or the Be Quite one, I personally will only use Corsairs RM series. Great build quality, no noise, great performance and reliability.

Seconded on the quality of the Corsair RM series. If you just want peace of mind, go with the Corsair. If you're just looking to save a few bucks, then the be quiet! will work as fine as any other.

edit: I also don't see why you would need a 1000W? I understand the desire to future-proof, but for my money I'd grab an 850W and that should still be pretty future-proof while also saving $30.

Power usage is trending downwards these days and will probably continue as long as they can keep shrinking dies.

That said, if you think you are ever going to get the very best from Intel cpu and AMD gpu in the future, perhaps 1000w isn't overkill hehe.

I agreed in the quality of the Corsair, but the price ist a lot and its not even ATX 3.0

I thought a bit about the 850w and I'm pretty sure it would be enough. But since we can not be sure what the trend in the future will be and I calculate to use this PSU for the next 10 years so i decided to invest the 20/30 bucks. Also i went a little low with my last PSU and pay for it now in my upgrade, so i dont wanna do that again

Not thoughts in the 8-Pin EPS12V anybody?

4-pin EPS is plenty overkill for a CPU stock operation, unless if you are running nightmare fuel CPU like 13900KS, you wont need dedicated 8 pin. Just a 4+4 is more than enough.
