So i started building a pc and its not able to post. The led lights on my motherboard is flashing for dram. I've tried using different ram sticks by themselves and they all result in the same. I also took out the cmos battery and and cleared the rtc ram jumper as it said to do in the manual. So far nothing has worked so I'm thinking it maybe the bios just needs and update or my cpu or motherboard are bad.

My build is a ryzen 5600g on a asus tuff x570 plus motherboard.

Ram is silicon power 8gbx2 ddr4 3200. I got two of those for a total of 32gbs. The power is a thermaltake toughtpower gx2 600w. And no gpu i plan to get that later. Thanks for any help you can give.

Try the ram sticks one by one. One faulty one could make the system not boot.

I've tried turning it on with each individual stick and it didn't work. I'm beginning to think it make have something to do with the motherboard or something

Unfortunately i have no way of checking at the moment. I can't update the bios without my cpu. My options right now seem to either return the motherboard to asus and have them send it back another motherboard or get a refund from Amazon and just buy another motherboard that is supposed to work. I unfortunately trusted the little sticker on the box that says ryzen 5000 series ready

its not a chicken and an egg problem. You can check it from the barcode thats either attached near the CPU or on the 24 pin ATX connector. Make sure that every number is legible when you send it here.

Like sorrybella said it's easy to find out.

So according to asus the bios that the motherboard shipped with is the last 4 digits on the barcode that is located between the cpu and the ram , This may be on the front of the motherboard or the back , asus doesn't specify , I would assume the back to be honest but it should be easy to check either way.

That's definately the first part of the trouble shooting process , Ignore the dram LED for now , Installing a cpu the motherboard doesn't support can do all kinds of weird stuff.

Let us know the 4 digits and we will go from there.

Edit : looks like we can see the barcode in the photo but obviously far too small to make out the numbers.

I think this is it. Which tells me the bios is out of date. Any suggestions? I'm considering going to a pc expert to update the bios. Or i could just return the motherboard or cpu. And thanks alot for the help

Yep, best resort besides RMA. If neither is an option, you could request Boot Kit from AMD but it does get a bit paper-laborious.

Well thanks that solves it. I might just return the cpu and live with a ryzen 3000 series cpu for a while. I wont be much different

Well apparently the bios that support this cpu has to be 3001 or newer so now I'm not sure what to think.

Maybe it's the cpu or motherboard.
