PS4 controller crashing computer when using DS4Tool?

Hiya! I recently got the Dualshock 4 controller for use with my computer. I'm using my own USB cable (the controller doesn't come with a charging cable), and plugging it into the front I/O of my system. I closely followed the instructions given to me to have the controller function with my computer, and the tool did actually end up working. I can use the touchpad, I can adjust the lightbar color, and I can remap the buttons. Windows also recognizes that I have a controller plugged in, and when I check the properties to test the inputs, they work, too. BUT, as soon as I load into a game, it doesn't do anything. And, lately, it's been making my computer freeze and crash. Hopefully, this has been comprehensive enough, but if you need more info, please ask. Specs are listed below:

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1

Intel i7 4770k @ 3.5GHz

ASRock Z87 Extreme4 (BIOS Ver. 2.7)

2x4GB Kingston HyperX Blu Red Series @1300MHz

2x4GB Crucial Ballistix Sport @1300MHz

2x120GB Corsair Force 3 SSD (Separate volumes, no RAID)

1TB Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003

Thanks in advance for any help/advice, guys!

I have this issue as well, i just restated my PC (well it froze up so duh) and well.. it works BUT i don't bother restarting the DStool, ignore it.

two things:
1 i use Bluetooth
2 it crashes anyway. its something wrong with the drivers that comes with the program, some kind of conflict i dont know what.

my only issues is the mapping of the keys. something has gone to hell.
for example: space ship game, default controller mapping make my ship spin in circles.

try updating any usb related drivers including chipset and try using the usb ports on the back

I've updated those drivers, and have tried using the USB ports on the back. Still doesn't work. :/ Thanks, though!

I'm using an actual cable. The controller doesn't actually function for me without the tool. But, anytime I start a game and the tool's running, my system just derps, and I have to hard restart.

Did you try and reinstall the 360 drivers?

Did the first thing. Started up Saints Row IV, and my computer crashed again. I was playing the game fine with the controller before using the tool, but the analogs were inverted. I'll try doing what you're doing.

Game works (tested Kingdom of amalur) Wireless mode is working (Tested with Saints 4) but for some reasons the LED wont change when its in wireless.

some advice. dont start Steam or whatever BEFORE the Tool.

Start the Tool before you start other applications like STEAM or Origin or whatever.

Also restart your PC after you installed the Xbox Thing i linked BEFORE testing the Tool

Tried everything you've said. Made my computer crash again. When I booted it back up, it decided to perform a CHKDSK. I might just wait a while until there's a really good version of the tool. For now, I'll just buy an XBOX 360 controller again. Thanks, anyway.
