Question about updating bios

I have an Asus prime b450-plus motherboard and i have never updated the bios. My current bios version is 0601 and I was thinking to update it to the newest version. Can i update my bios to the newest one or should i update it to an older version first?

0601 is a very old BIOS version for your motherboard. Holy crap, there are 25 BIOS versions released for your motherboard after 0601..  Why do you want to update though? Are you planning on installing a new CPU? Is the PC not working the way you want?

Yep! I have been thinking about upgrading my cpu and so I looked into it and found some people saying to just update the newest version and others saying that i should update older ones first.

You can generally go straight to the latest, unless there's a note on the download page that specifically says "update to xyz first" or something similar.
