2011 MBA and 2017 display swap

Go to solution Solved by BondiBlue,

No, those two machines don't share parts. The display and battery are incompatible. You also won't be able to put the newer board into the older chassis. It won't fit, and connectors aren't going to line up properly.

hello, i have a 2011 macbook air and a 2017 macbook air with a broken display (both 13 inches), will i be able to take the screen from the 2011 and put it in the 2017.

cant find anything about it online. also what about the battery? its also says service recommended, can i put the 2017 macbook air logic board in the 2011, maybe that will just be easier.

thanks!

Looking around, the display assemblies are different part numbers; I don't think they'll be cross-compatible.

Same goes for the logic boards - the connectors for MagSafe and WiFi wouldn't work.
