Other details

Hey so I was thinking about upgrading my PC. My current system is 5 years old and so practically speaking I would need to build from scratch. My current plans are such.

The following I already own (either bought recently or from my current PC build)

Storage:
1tb Harddrive current build
500 gb SSD (samsung 860 EVO 500gb) current build
1TB NVMe M.2 SSD (samsung 980 Pro) bought recently
Ram:
4x8gb DDR 4 corsair Ram current build

Purchases I need to make (Planned):

Graphics Card: 3080 Ti (used) appx 600 CAD
CPU: R7 5800x3d (used) appx 425 CAD
Motherboard: Don't know yet
Cooling: Don't know yet (was recommended Noctua by a friend)
Case: No clue

My goal is to build a future proofed system for appx 1.5k CAD. I would also need to purchase a 1440p monitor but I have all other peripherals from my current build. Does anyone know of any hidden gems in terms of Gcard/cpu that might preform better than what I am planning on buying for appx the same price? Will my CPU bottleneck my GPU or vice versa? What cooling is recommended? What cooling do you recommend? I can probably figure out a motherboard on my own.

My priorities are price to preformance and a future proofed system that can last me another 5 years. I am not afraid to buy used (on ebay). I dont really care about appearance at all (primarily for the case).

If you play your haggle cards right you could fetch a 3090 at that price.

That is kinda hyper shit deal, you can get new for 3 CAD more. For context actual used price for it down south of the border is 300-350CAD.

I was able to find a 5800X3D on kijiji for 325 thanks :D.
Would you say 600 is a good price for a 3080Ti, Ive searched on both eBay and Kijiji and the cheapest 3090 I can find is 850 so I doubt I can haggle that down to 600 😛

6950xt is or at least was running 600usd with xfx cards going for 580 for awhile there.  Dunno how much they are up in the great white north.  I really like mine so far.  I'm kind of over Nvidia at this point, but not sure amd is much better.  More of a pick your poison kinda deal.
