Fan hub

Go to solution Solved by TeraSeraph,

Generally you don't need a fan hub in most modern computers because they come with more than enough headers and amperage.

You don't want to plug a hub into your CPU header because that would mean your whole case RPM is tied to your CPU. It's better to put your fans on as many separate headers as needed to allow more case flow control. Running separate fan curves can greatly lower the noise of your system by only using as much RPM as needed.

I've got a fan hub in my meshify 2 and I've got my PA 120 seperate from the fan hub with my fan hub plugged into a sysfan header. My temps seem fine, but i recall reading somewhere that you shouldn't plug in fan hubs to the cpu fan header for some reason.  Can anyone give me some context or opinions about fan hubs in general. Or why you wouldn't want to plug the hub into cpu fan header.

The CPU header has a warning if a fan or AIO pump stops, this is a nice warning to have. using a hub on this port might not play so well with this, when one fan on the hub can die but u might not get a warning.

If u have many fans that draw alot of power and u dont have very many headers on ur MB, a Hub is nice.

but they do limit some functionality; with hubs u cant turn fans off in software  (atleast from what i have seen in testing)
