Greetings all !!

I am having problems with my new Asus Maximus IV Gene motherboard and the raid option.

The raid array is working "fine" sometimes, but most of the times it can't be seen from Windows and the only thing I have found that fixing it is a restart and a look in the bios. It is only a look i am not changing anything in there.

The HDD is two 500gb a Samsung and a WD.

Do anyone have an idea to what could remove the needed restart ?

The HDD is two 500gb a Samsung and a WD.

Software RAIDs work best if the drives are identical. Theoretically, it shouldn't matter, but there could be timing issues.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

Greetings again.

I am using hardware raid so that shouldn't be the problem. But yeah, I have heard of similar problems with different drives

For now it is working. All i did was change it from the Intel Sata III to Sata II and thats about it

Thanks again
