Memory issue

I got two sticks of ram 8gigs and 16gigs of Gskill Aegis(3000Mhz),when i put 16gig stick first  and 8gig stick second the cpu and dram lights are flashing and there is message *Memory overclocking failed* but when i put 8gig stick first and 16gig stick second everything is normal and PC boot up. 
The RAM speed is set to 2666Mhz because its my cpu (10400F) maximum speed. Please help
