DDR4 Compatability

I work for a small, Detroit, MI based technology recycling and refurbishing company.  I cannot seem to get the computers I have been given to accept 16 GB of DDR4 RAM.  I am carefully checking to make certain I am only using 2400T or 266V as specified by the OEM and yet it's just not working.  I'm spending DAYs getting through just a few computers.  Please help!
