GPU driver acting weird

So I built this computer a few months ago and had these problems, but they stopped happening so I decided not to worry about it, but now they're back.

Basically, when I'm using my computer the screen will randomly go black for a split second, come back on and then the window I'm using is black. If I hover my mouse over everything only the buttons reappear, so I have to close whatever I'm working on and open it again.

Also half of the time when my monitor turns off and my computer attempts to go to sleep, it will make 5 short beeps, pause for a split second and then make what sounds like another short beep, but cut off. After that it the screen won't wake up so I have to perform a forced restart.

I have gotten these errors in Event Viewer:

 

It has been acting really slow whenever these problems occur too, such as explorer.exe not responding or the action center taking forever to pop up.

 

Specs:

OS - Windows 11 Pro

CPU - Ryzen 5 5500

GPU - Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 6600

RAM - OLOy OWL DDR4-3000 MHz

Mobo - ASRock B450M Steel Legend

SSD - HP S700 Pro 1TB

PSU - EVGA 650W Non-Modular

 

All drivers, OS, etc. are up to date. Any and all help is appreciated.

Try DDU and then reinstall display driver.

DDU is a 3rd party tool uninstalling display driver, better than display drivers uninstalling themselves.

 

 

Also try do a DISM and SFC command to scan your system for corruption (Just goolde DISM and SFC command or follow this link)

I ran SFC and DISM. SFC didn't detect any errors. I ran DISM CheckHealth and I didn't detect any issues, but when I ran ScanHealth it said 'The component store is repairable. The operation completed successfully.' Does that mean it found an issue and fixed it or is is saying that everything is fine?

It repaired the image so you should redo the SFC.

 

Are you using the latest Bios for your board?

Latest chipset drivers downloaded from AMD (not Asrock!)?

 

Check the SSD health with Hard Disk Sentinel.

 

Disable Multiplane Overlay MPO.

I currently have BIOS version 4.3, looks like 4.6 is out. Idk if I have the chipset drivers installed either, so I'll install that too.

Flash the latest bios.

Download the latest chipset drivers from AMD.

 

What about the storage health?

I'm talking about Hard Disk Sentinel which I mentioned earlier. Not sfc. Sfc does a system file check.

My apologies. It says performance is at 100% and health is at 99% with 1 bad sector and the data in it was moved to a spare one.

Bad sectors on an SSD usually mean - it has started to die.

 

First, do a check with:

chkdsk c: /scan

 

If it asks for a chkdsk c: /f do that too.

 

Then, check if there's a firmware update for the SSD.

 

You might want to replace it as a preventive measure.

So I just updated the bios and now it is saying that both the performance and health are at 100% with a perfect drive. I redid the test and it came back with the same results.

Check if the issue still happens.

Okay now it doesn't have issues falling asleep, but I am still having problems waking it up from sleep. Sometimes when I wake it up the display stays off and I have to reboot the computer to use it.

 This is another issue now, it points to the display driver.

 

Do you use the latest GPU driver (23.5.2 at this date, 23.6.1 soon to arrive)?

Have you disabled MultiPlane Overlay?

 

Does your computer use hybrid sleep (sleep+hibernation) or did you turn off hibernation to get the regular sleep (standby) back?

If you haven't, do a "powercfg -h off" in CMD to turn off Hibernation. Reboot and recheck.

I got this error when opening AMD Software, so I'll go ahead and install the right one.
