My New Media PC.

I just planed out a Media PC that is able to store some movies and that kind of stuff.

 

Here are the components:

Chassi: Cooler Master Elite 120 Mini-ITX

Motherboard: ASUS P8H61-I LX R2.0

CPU: Intel® Celeron® G540

Bluray reader: ASUS BW-12B1ST

Harddrive: Seagate Barracuda®

Power: Corsair CX 430M

I live in sweden and the total cost of it all got to 3064 swedish money or 462 USD

 

Please leave a comment if I can get the price down or something like that... all comments will be read, don't you worry :)

All seems good, and the case looks awesome, but I would suggest a little graphics card like these.

for a straight out media pc why not go amd?

every time i see some one say they going to build a media pc 1st thing that comes up with intel , add a graphics card :D

if not for gaming it has the perfect base for a media/htpc build

I couldnt find a Mini ITX mobo with a AMD socket but I will check again.. thanks for the great feedback by the way :)

Both those AMD stuff you suggested were pretty expencive if you look at my budget at 3500 swedish money or 528 USD.. great ideas though

yeah can be a bit more cost but if you factor in and graphic card purchase works out the same

and the A6 or A4 cost less then the A8 but they dual cores not quads

The AMD thing is an APU so you won't need a graphics card with it. It has enough performance for a media PC. Just see which solution is cheaper in Sweden the Intel CPU + Graphics card or just the AMD APU, also don't forget to count the motherboard into your prices.

Honestly for a media PC I don't think it matter, but also The fan one will be cooler, not sure how much cooler though...

There is a AMD A6 3500 and a A6 5400 which is better???

my thinking in using amd for media pcs is just the need to not buy a card to get a hdmi output

and you going to after a quite pc so less fans = less noise 

temps wise u just have to check as you go, how well will the case breath when in use , if sitting in open will help better if placed inside a stand etc

AMD A6 3500 is only for FM1 socket CPU's , The A6 5400 is a  FM2 ,a newer and a different socket and will not take a FM1 cpu

Well the A6 5400 is newer, but go for what you can afford, also That motherboard looks good :)
