RX6950XT for <650 € or RX7900XT for approx. 800 €

After a long process i finally got my 600 € back for my broken 6800XT, now there is the question what card should i buy now... I first set my budget to at max +150 € ( so 750 €) but the more modern and more efficient 7900XT is quite nice. On the other hand is the 6950XT for sometimes just over 600 € is just such a nice offer...

Maybe you can give me some reasons why i should buy the one or the other...

Thank you for all suggestions

IMO the 7900 xt isn't worth it. I'll let the benchmarks do the talking. Btw normally the 7900 xt and 6950 xt are near each other

but it does also depend what games your playing

benchmarks have shown that the 7900XT can hit 30% more performance but it is not my money to spend.

I was considering 4070 at this price range but ultimately went for a second hand 3080 (it’s on the way, wish me luck)

There is every other day a brand new 6950XT for about 630 € on Mindfactory. So considering that my 6800XT broke after 5 month I much rather go new for the GPU so that I have a warranty or at least "Gewährleistung" (more or less a 6 month warranty plus 1.5 years limited warranty after that)

prices on GPUs today have fallen the last month or two but they are still the price of a decent home PC that many people use for email web browsing and their basic needs.

That gamers so often pay the same price simply for a GPU is painful. For that reason I have also always shied away from 2nd hand as I want my full warranty. it might not make financial sense but the peace of mind is also what I pay for.
