GPU Usage 100% & CPU Under 5%

Hello,

 

I have noticed that recently playing games, my fans have ramped up louder than they should. I took a look at NZXT Cam since it opens by default and I've noticed that my GPU is at 99-100% usage while my CPU is always under 5%. Not sure exactly what's the problem but it's very concerning as it's gotten significantly louder in the last week or so. Is this bad? Is there a fix if so? Any help is greatly appreciated. I'll also list my specs just incase.

 

Motherboard: MSI Z490 A-Pro

CPU: i5-10600K

GPU: Nvidia RTX 3070 FE

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB)

PSU: Thermaltake Smart 700W 80+ White

Storage: Samsung 980 M.2 1TB SSD + Seagate BarraCuda 2TB HDD

Case: NZXT H5

Sounds normal for GPU heavy gaming. This is ideal. If the GPU wasn’t at 100% it would be more concerning. Can you go into detail about display resolution, games you play and GLU stats while in game?

What games are you playing and at which resolution?
5%CPUs does seem  a little low

Replace the PSU first. TT Smart 80+ White is hot garbage. Low quality, low efficiency, loud fan, bad voltage regulation, high ripple and bad protections.

 

What's the load temperature of the GPU and CPU?

Is the motherboard BIOS fully up to date?

100% GPU usage isn't a problem. Also, I've noticed that many CPU usage monitoring programs do not actually correctly report CPU usage.

 

The noise is a separate issue IMO
