Gaming Services/ Xbox App not working

Hello,

 

when launching the Xbox App, it promts me with the following error code citing the gaming services:

0x80080005

The support website is beyond useless.

So far, I've tried to

- reinstall the Xbox App

- reinstall the Gaming Services

- repair and reset both in the settings app

- installing windows updates

- restarting my pc numerous times

- running scans for incorrect regestries

- running an sfc scan that ended up repairing something

The problem seems to originate from an error with the gaming services itself. When opening the services app, gaming services is listed as not runnig, when trying to start it, the app promts error code 1060, the service is not an installed service.

 

All games from EA via EA Play appear normally in the Xbox app. Xbox games don't appear although being installed.

Surely there is someone who knows how to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance for any help.

Solved the issue after ca. 1.5 hours of chatting with microsoft support.

It appears there was an issue with one or several windows files not working/missing/ being corrupted or whatever. To fix this I did an in-place windows upgrade. This fixes all windows file related issues as I understand, but it does not touch on any files, programms or settings. The procedure to do this cab be found on Microsoft's website by searching for windows in-place upgrade.
