is my ssd compatible

Go to solution Solved by Eigenvektor,

https://www.lexar.com/product/lexar-nm790-m-2-2280-pcie-gen-4x4-nvme-ssd/

Their website mentions NVMe 1.4 Technology Standard.

In any case, the NVMe 2.0 spec is backwards compatible with previous generations. Similary, PCIe 4.0 is backwards compatible with PCIe 3.0, so you can use a PCIe 4.0 NVMe in a 3.0 board (and vice versa)

this may be a dumb question, but i still want to be sure before spending money. so i want to buy lexar nm790 ssd, and from what i found it requires an nvme 2.0 protocol, and i cant find if my motherboard is compatrible with it, i have hp motherboard with a H370 chipset, and i7 8700 if that matters, also i know my motherboard supports only pcie 3.0, but im going to put the ssd in a new pc when i build one, thats why im getting it.

If your motherboard supports M.2 with NVME (yet please provide with the model for the motherboard (ex. MSI B75M) so we can provide an accurate answer), then it should supports it albeit with reduced performance.
