I wanted to upgrade graphics card, but I don't know which one I'll want to get. I have a radeon 6700 xt 12gb, but I want something with 16 gb or/and up. It could be either a radeon or nVidia.

My PC is specs.

Motherboard: MSI Z590-A PRO

CPU: Intel core I7 11700k

RAM: G.Skill Trident z 32gb

I don't have any budget limit, any suggestions for gaming and productivity GPU?

1080p or 1440p?

Any case, you'd want to upgrade the CPU first.

For what reason? The I7 11700K is more then powerful enough for modern standards and 1440P gaming.

Anyhow, if you have no budget, why not get something like a Radeon Rx6900 XT? It has 16 GBs of VRAM and would be plenty good for productivity, or alternatively you can get a Nvidia RTX 3080/80 Ti if you want the NVENC encorder for OBS.

Keep in mind that I am sometimes wrong, so please correct me if you believe this is the case!

1440p, which CPU would you recommend?

AMD Ryzen 7000 series, if mostly gaming the Ryzen 7800X3D.

Or the Intel 13th generation i7/i9.

Both include a motherboard upgrade, with the option to stay on ddr4 with the Intel combination.

are you serious? his cpu is actually very good

Not really, it's predating Alder Lake, meaning roughly the same IPC as Intel 6th to 11th generation. Just a tiny bit over the 2nd to 5th gen.

Enough to bottleneck any GPU above the upper mid-range. Even on 1440p.

Pretty much comparable to Zen2, which is weaker than Zen3. And Zen3, excluding the X3D chip, is also weak for high-end gaming.

Have you tried using a CPU like that paired with a high-end GPU? Or a mid-range Nvidia GPU?

How about checking the YT channel Tech Deals? Tech is right when it comes to those older CPUs.

The 11700K is mighty fine for the 6700XT he has. It would also be fine for a 6800 or 6800XT. It would bottleneck a 6900XT/6950XT or the 7900XT/7900XTX.

From Nvidia, which is harder to drive, the 11700K would be fine for the RTX 3070, and 3070Ti, but the 3080 and 4070 cards would start to be bottlenecked in some games.

Now, going from a 6700XT card to a 6800 or an RTX 3070 / 4070 type card, that's not an upgrade worth doing.

In fact, a platform upgrade while keeping the 6700XT would probably result in smoother frame times than an upgrade to a 6800XT while keeping the old CPU.

but it's 8c/16t so should be plenty for games or any cpu demanding workload and intel is generally better for gaming it might be 14nm but there are significant improvement from original node.

It is 8c 16t, but so is a Ryzen 1700X or the Intel i7 5960X. We have 8 cores with 16 threads in desktops since 2014. That does not mean an 8-core is automatically good.

I am not claiming it's bad for gaming or that it can't game. I'm just saying it's not enough for high-end GPUs in modern titles or competitive titles with high framerates and high refreshes.

It can prepare a decent frame rate, but not as high as some GPU-s can render.
