"EnableMsHybrid" not working

I have a GTX 1080 and a i7-2700K, therefore, HD Graphics 3000.

The GTX 1080 is enough to play and have other programs running in parallel. However, these programs (Google Chrome, Discord, WhatsApp etc) are consuming too much VRAM.

For God's sake, we aren't in 2008 anymore to have to close every program before running a game or any demanding app. My only issue here is VRAM usage; it can take up to 2 GB, and it's not even the game.

I have three monitors/TVs: 1080p 144 Hz (main), 1080p 60 Hz (secondary monitor), 1080p Hz (TV; it mirrors the main monitor) besides an extended "monitor", which is actually a capture card connected to another computer.

I tried the "EnableMsHybrid" to set the GTX 1080 as "High Performance" and the HD Graphics 3000 as "Power Saving", but only the GTX 1080 shows up for everything. The driver for the iGPU is updated.

Thinking that maybe it was due to my Windows 10 being over my previous SO (Windows 7), I tried it on another computer, which has a GTX 280 in the first slot and an RX 550 in the second slot.

Both have their latest drivers and are recognized by GPU-Z, Device Manager and everything.

I set the GTX 280 to be the "High Performance" GPU and the RX 550 to be the "Power Saving" GPU, but only the GTX 280.

Please note that the "AdapterType" try never existed in any folder from the start. I tried disabling the secondary GPU and restarting the PC to no avail.

Am I doing something wrong? I read some comments stating that this "hack" only works on Haswell systems and newer, but I have seen several examples of it working on LGA1155.
