Budget (including currency): 1400-1600€ (~1500$US - 1700$US)

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Destiny 2, Battlefield 2042, League of Legends, Hogwarts Legacy, Guild Wars 2, Diablo 4 probably

The games do not need to run on the highest settings possible, I would just prefer a very consistently smooth experience.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Current Setup: Intel i3-8350k 4-Core 4.00GHz, and NVIDIA Geforce GTX 970, 16GB RAM, Windows 10, the rest im not 100% sure but my Motherboard doesn't have a slot for NVME SSD's and I am currently using a 256GB Sata SSD as my Boot Drive and a 2TB HDD for other stuff. I don't plan on reusing any parts for the new build because I will maybe turn it into a Linux Machine.

Monitors: I currently use 3 Monitors, two of which are 1080p 60Hz (Left and Right) and the other is 1080p 140Hz (Center). I plan to use at least two of them, because three is overkill most of the time, and I also plan to upgrade to a 1440p 144Hz Monitor in the near Future (if anyone has some recommendations for that I would appreciate it, that doesnt need to be in the Budget because its not necessary at the moment)

Peripherals: Nothing needed. I will use Windows on it, but I got that license covered (Windows 10 Education most likely)

New PC Setup: So I followed a Build-Guide from a german Computer-Magazine (c't) to create this Part-List. https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/ygCCNc

In the article their original list included a Ryzen 9 7950X and a Radeon RX 6600 8GB, I adjusted it a little bit because I thought that the Processor is too Overkill for that low of an Improvement from the Graphics Card (I compared them on cpubenchmark and videocardbenchmark with my current setup and some other options listed in the Article). Also currently the Power Supply listed is not available (hasn't for the last few weeks) and I wouldn't know with what to replace it.

Why are you upgrading?: Well it's basically a matter of general Performance, Battlefield 2042 and Hogwarts Legacy for example do run on my PC but it is not the smoothest experience. And Destiny 2 for example always had Problems with my CPU going 100% for extended Periods which caused extreme stuttering. Also my Sata SSD is pretty small with 256GB and not an M.2 SSD which makes everything pretty slow.

I have never built a PC myself before, and I would appreciate any kind of Input.

Thanks!

First of all, thanks for answering.

A few questions though, because I'm curious about why you chose them.

Why did you choose this Processor instead of the 7700X, it is cheaper (if only by a few Euros) and has better single core performance?

Power Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 ARGB 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply  (€129.00 @ Amazon Deutschland)

And is 850W really necessary for this build? And I don't really care about RGB, its going under the Desk anyways 😄

What what would be better about that Motherboard? The B650M PG Riptide can also support DDR5-6000 RAM.

Why not now?

I just wanted to wait a bit because it is not urgent for me. And maybe I can swoop a nice deal somewhere. Also I also don't have any ideas what monitors are good.

But thanks for that recommendation.

Its for 'future proofing' and future upgrades

This ones atx and gives further expandability as well as it having better vrms

They have about the same performance in gaming and the 7700 has a lower power target than the 7700x so it'll run quieter and cooler while consuming less watts
