Made a previous post about this topic I found a gaming pc at the landfill and everything seems to work fine it’s got an MSI mother board not sure what kind i76700, GTX1060 and your obvious essentials your computer need also it’s running windows 10 but I’ve looked into it and found out that the RTL8192CE Wi-Fi card uses two antennas to get Wi-Fi but my does not have the two antennas I can still see two other networks plus my hotspot so not sure if I need to look into getting two antennas or just buy a net gear usb Wi-Fi card from Walmart

let me know what y’all think

not sure if they have really good Wi-Fi or I’m in a camper and not but 25-30 feet from the router itself so not sure what to do

The physical antennae are required for longer range reception, perhaps better 5GHz reception and definitely Bluetooth reception. If it's working fine as is for you, then I don't see a need to do anything just yet.

You can always get antennae from any electronics store. Just make sure the connectors are compatible.

No reason why the USB adapter wouldn't work 🙂  Not quite sure why your existing Realtek Wireless card isn't playing ball though.

Have you uninstalled it in Device Manager and rebooted your machine? It should reinstall on reboot. At which point you can see if your network pops up then. If you can connect to other networks from it then I'm not too sure what the issue is. WiFi 6 can use both 2.4hz and 5hz.

As stated in the other thread too, I'd ensure that all windows updates are run as well on the off chance that something from a missed update fixes your issue.

Not bad for a landfill find though! I'm impressed.

Which I did uninstall the drive and installed it back using the scan for new hardware button and then rest my pc and it did nothing not sure if that’s that same thing though

and no doubt not bad at all lol

Yeah that'll be the same end result. Let us know how it looks after running updates etc, not super confident that'll change much but you never know!

The best trash find I had was a BluRay drive I ripped out of a PC in the side of the road when I was a teenager.. Simpler times! 😂
