I have never played MFS in all my years of gaming. I just wondered if its something that only a small minority are interested in or whether its a bit of fun? I am not a pilot and never will be but have considered getting it. Apparently it looks quite sublime with the right hardware but I would like to know if casual gamers play it also.

I just like crashing the planes into the ground in the older 2000 versions (since its the free version that my laptop can run)

ye there are people who just play it for fun. It's a bit like forza horizon 5, but without the incredibly toxic devs

FS2020 is fun in a way that I can fly into places while being under the influence of some things. It takes a while to get used to the controls and actual gameplay. For me, its just whole lot of sitting and looking at screen doing nothing most of the time, just admiring the scenery. It took me around 10 hours to get used to all the controls and settings.

I’m not a pilot but just have an interest in aviation and maps. I play with Google Earth for fun. This combines all that plus allows for some really beautiful sight seeing.

I'm considering a career as a pilot, and I've been able to learn a lot from the game, which is super accurate. I love the graphics. I would classify it as more of a simulator than a game.

I try to be respectful. If I ever come off in a different manner, I probably don't mean to. If I don't help you sorry, if I do, mark my comment as the solution.

You'll need at least a gamepad to control it. Keyboard and mouse is impossible to use.

I picked up a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick for about 40 USD and it serves me well.
