PC making a noise recently but can't identify which is causing the sound.

Go to solution Solved by Galahal,

With bit more manual checking of each case fan and GPU fan, I found the exact same issue. Same Variant card mine is 3070 Ti Aorus Master

https://www.reddit.com/r/gigabyte/comments/r90vza/aorus_3080_master_v1_fan_1_spins_at_100_fan_3/

GPU FAN 1 is at 100% all the time HWinfo or other fan control app shows 0 RPM

It starts a minute or two after booting to OS. I have checked if that was the HDD making noise (Unplugged completely but the sound was there still.) and I've also tested my PSU (That's not the case either) Checked my GPU (All 3 GPU fan was stopped but the noise was still coming).

Could someone guide me on what could be the reason for this noise? It's pretty noticeable even with my headset on.

CPU AIO Cooler: Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240L V2

try running the GPU at the same frame rate as the monitor. If the frame rate is set to uncapped it can often cause whine in some PCs and the capping of the frame rate often helps. Not always but it costs nothing but 30 seconds of time to try out.

not really anything, its normal, what happens for me is when my fans are at anything above 87% spped, it gives coil whine, so i keep it as high as it goes without coil whine

No, I have been using it for a little over a year now and this noise started about a day or two ago.

Anyway, I think the last comment on that reddit helped. I always double check after installing GPU. But taking the GPU out and reinstalling it solved the issue I can manually control the fan now and HWinfo shows the correct value and the noise is gone when at anything below 80% Speed. Starts making that noise at ~3000 RPM

Thanks to both of you and everyone else for the help, I definitely can differ the GPU Whine now which I wasn't aware of.
