E Waste

Go to solution Solved by CerealExperimentsLain,

Find a way to reuse them. Give them away to a local recycling charity (As in one that builds PCs and such).  Friends.  Post them online for free.

Later this summer I'm going to 'retire' an Asus X79 mobo, with a 12 core E5 Xeon, and a bunch of RAM, and I'm literally just going to post it on this forum, the first person willing to pay shipping from Toronto can have it otherwise for free.

What do you do with old hardware and cables? haven't thrown any old stuff away, but I have 3 or 4 European cables, and a bag of ddr3 ram. Its literally like 20 sticks. I don't have space to keep it, but I dont to just toss themIMG_0593.HEIC

Sell them? Only way to keep it going

Sell the sticks on ebay as well as the cables

Someone on eBay might want the RAM.

As for the cables, usually I throw them in a box in the corner until I've accumulated enough to make it worth bringing to a scrapyard for a few extra bucks. They're trash. Nobody's going to buy European power cables from you. You can bring them to a store that accepts ewaste like Best Buy or Staples if you really want, but aside from chopping the European connectors off and buying North American replacement plugs for them I don't think there's anything worthwhile to do with them.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.
