Really puzzled by my own PC.

For context, I work in IT, and all the basic troubleshooting has been done, disconnected all non-essential usb devices, going down to the required hardware, single ssd, cpu, ect.Trying to boot.

Sometimes my motherboard will show a light for the GPU on the troubleshooting LEDs, and the screen will show a white underscore in the top right when booting. However, when I press reset, this resolves the issue.

Now, after some research, it was said this could be a driver issue. I have DDU'd and installed the Studio driver, as that is usually more stable. I have also disabled Fast boot to make sure it loads the driver from storage on boot.

However the issue persists. It isn't every time I boot, but is every so often, I'm not sure what causes it, kinda wish this was like Linux, so I could just grep all the logs during the boot sequence.

I know the RAM I use which is Corsair Vengence LPX does have some issues with XMP with Ryzen (PC specs will be below), so I disabled XMP and lowered the clockspeed to 3000Mhz, just to be on the safe side.

I have a feeling this will be a motherboard issue or CPU.

I have also done a full reinstall of Windows as well (I have servers and all my required data is backed up to those so it's fine, there wasnt anything important.)

I have checked and my 2080 Super has the latest firmware, and I don't believe it is the issue as it works fine after a reset.

Motherboard BIOS has been updated as well, CPU, GPU and SSD have been reseated or moved to another slot, in the case of the SSD.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dirty pcie slot? Bad seat on the card? Seems like some kind of marginal contact issue between the mobo and gpu.

Completely reseated the GPU, as mentioned in the original post, the GPU also works just fine after pressing the reset button.

Kinda wished I had a spare GPU or omboard graphics at the moment to test with those.
