Temperature controlled fans?

Go to solution Solved by Intervalence,

If you have an asus motherboard you can use fan xpert to setup a custom fan curve for each fan, that's what I use  ;)

Would there be a way to do this? Like the fans don't spin at all untill the CPU hit's 40 degrees and then they spin at something like 300 rpm once it hits 50 500 rpm and once it hits 60 (it will never hit 60 tho.) 700 rpm.

The fans will be 2x  PK1's and 3x PL1's on a 280mm and a 360mm.

Thanks :)

dont think 3pin fans can be controlled, so the solution is buying new fans :P

Well they can through voltage regulation i think? Also I don't have them yet but they are the only good looking, quiet and good cooling fans. I mean look at them 476846.jpg

You can't resist.

I do have the Rampage IV Extreme Black Edition. How exactly would I do that? Can I adujust them to spinn up when the temps rise?

As you can see on my fan xpert,

My top fan is set so that at temperatures between 10-30 degrees, it runs at 60%, then when the temperature increases the fan rpm gradually increases to the desired rpm. My top fan is almost always running at about half speed, and my front intake fan in the image named HDD fan is almost never even spinning. It's a great and easy to use, you should try it.

And that works with 3 pin fans?
