Hello,

My CPU isn't running below 4ghz when on idle. Tried messing with Windows power settings but have to change the overall limit of the cpu. Board is an msi b550 gaming plus.

Anyone had a simular issue? Just wanna keep the heat/noise down when watching films ect.

you can change the fan curves in fan control or the BIOS

I hit 700W on an i5 with a NHD15

Also I'm 14 so please just confirm anything I say with someone more experienced

The x3d chips don’t like their power messed with. I’d be VERY careful and do extensive research before messing with any voltage with any x3d chip

My 5800x3d is around 3.7 while idle on both systems. Task manager however reports my clock speeds higher than HWinfo by 0.3/0.4.

Do you have the latest bios? Which program are you using to check the frequency? Tassk manager seems to always report above 4ghz for me, while any decent app like hwinfo shows clocks dropping under 1ghz on idle.
