Hi guys,

So, loving my new 780 and the 3 Dell U2414H's I picked up shortly after to get toward my dream setup. (long time saving!) :)

Then comes the joys of nVidia surround.

My impressions so far are that:

- The experience in games is amazing, much more immersive.

- The desktop experience is, well, really just annoying and in your way. Like Eyefinity (from what I've heard/read), they need to have more options on window management (ie. aero snap behavior).

- It's a bit of a ball ache and something nVidia seriously need to invest a bit more time into.

The farce to change (can't stand the desktop in being in surround) from surround back to extended is seriously annoying, having it re-arrange the desktop, and it auto disconnecting the other monitors every time you switch off surround is a real pain (having to re-enable them in windows screen settings).

My question to you guys:

Is there an easier way to switch from surround, back to having the 3 separate monitors in extended? (have it not disconnect the displays, keep desktop layout, etc.)

Thanks. :)

Yeh, have it installed for around 5-6 months now. Got it in a steam sale.

It's great for applying wallpapers and fixing a few gripes with window management & saving desktop icons. But as far as I can see, it unfortunately cannot switch between surround/extended in a better manor, if at all.

Hmm, couldn't you just keep it in surround mode and then use display fusion to create virtual screens. I.E 3 x 1920x1080 screens as one profile and then a second profile set to 5760x1080 for gaming.

I've not used display fusion enough to understand it much. I do fine with my surround setup (yup it's a ball ache).

Linus did a

on display fusion which does highlight a lot of good points and features. Perhaps that will assist you better??

@MysteriousKiwi

Ah, that's a shame. I was hoping that with virtual monitors through DF it would behave the same as extended?? without the hassle of disabling and enabling  :huh:
