Budget (including currency): 500 - 600 usd

Country: Chile, but I'm buying from Amazon so USD

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly games and a little bit of programming. I want a PC capable of running everything on Ultra, looking foward for FF16

Other details :

  • I started building my PC, because I managed to buy a 3060ti, while waiting for it to arrive I bought the case, the rams, a monitor (looking for 1080p), the CPU, an SSD and the power supply. when it got the time to my graphics card to arrive the guy who sold the products run away leaving me with all these components waiting so after a extremely long cry and more months saving i decided to end the build but this time with an AMD graphics card but I'm not sure which one to pick.

  • So here are my components:
  1. CPU: Ryzen 5800x
  2. RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR4 8X2 GB 3200 MHz
  3. SSD: SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB NVMe M.2
  4. Motherboard: ASRock AM4/X570 Steel Legend/4DDR4/HDMI/DP/R45 Motherboard
  5. Power Supply: Cool Master MWE 750W PLUS Bronce Certificated
  6. Case: Cougar Gemini S - Silver

  • I'm missing the graphics card and a CPU cooler, I was between a 6700 XT or a 6800 XT, some building pages says that with a 6700 could have a bottleneck but others do not so I'm not sure what to do, besides, with the CPU and the case I'm worried about the temperatures so I would like some advice for the cooler too

Thanks in advance for any comments or guidance!

Bottleneck calculators are perro caca.  Either of those GPUs would be fine with your CPU.

Have you purchased any of those components?  Are you buying all of this now?

I already purchased all those components, the only one that are missing is the graphics card and the CPU cooler.

Either GPu is fine.  Look at youtube videos of people playing games with both GPUs to decide of the higher price of the 6800xt is worth it.

For a cooler, any aftermarket cooler with at least 4 heat pipes should do a good enough job, but you can get a bigger one if you like.  The thermalright assassin king on US amazon is like $21 and it has 5 heat pipes.

I use the Scythe Mugen 5 for my 5800x and it seems to be fine. Any equivalent cooler should be good too.

For 1080p, the 6700xt is good. It's also good for most non-AAA games at 1440p. The 6800XT would be a better choice for all 1440p ultra games today and possibly the future (unfortunately I don't have a crystal ball).

My husband runs a 6700xt with a 3440x1440@165Hz monitor and pretty much everything runs well.  I think he was averaging like 120fps in No Man's Sky with everything cranked to ultra, and Overwatch 2 never ever dips below the refresh rate at epic settings.  Not the best reference as we mainly play e-sports, but so far it's been a great experience.

Keep in mind the PS5 has a GPU slightly slower than the 6600xt and people are using it for brand new games at 4K.

6700xt will work for 1440p in a lot of games. I personally found it struggled with Wild Hearts (newer EA game) so I was thinking it was going to be similar for other AAA games. Really depends on game selection (pc ports be shitty 😞 )
