Hey guys I'm planning a mini ITX build for Uni. Since I will be travelling between China, Singapore, UK and Australia, I need the pc to be as compact as possible while carrying adequate performance. Budget is not really a big concern but I don't want to waste money.

Currently the build looks like this:

CPU: 13600kf

MB: ROG STRIX Z690-I GAMING WIFI

Cooling: EKWB 240 AIO D-RGB-V2, swap the fans for Noctua Industrial PPC, Thermalright cpu contact frame
GPU: 4080 fe (yesss i know.... but 4090 is 1.5x the price of 4080 in China and honestly i dont need the performance of 4090. I also doubt i would get 30 series because all of them, even brand new ones are mining cards in China)

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 32GB (2x 16GB) DDR5 6400MHz CL32 Memory

SSD: 1TB 990 Pro + 2TB PM9A1 (need the storage cus i'm not opening this compact system to upgrade, sata ssd will add complication to cable management

PSU: The Phanteks Revolt SFX 850W Platinum (ATX3.0 for cable management, obviously need a sfx psu and platinum rating is just good to have

Case: Lian Li Dan A4H2O

Everything should come down to about 2.8k usd, which is about the maximum i can afford for a pc. I will be undervolting both the CPU and GPU to reduce their power consumption to keep the temps in control

The question now is:, there is an online store in China that sells selected cpus based on their sp value from rog motherboards. Should I yolo and go for a fresh one out of the box and test my luck on cpu lottery(undervolting), or should i pay 15 usd more for a 13600kf with SP91, 105 on Pcores and 65 on Ecores.

Undervolting is very easily achievable even on garbage bin 13600k's. Btw I recommend a 13600k as those seem to like being undervolted or overclocked a lot more than the f's that have defective igpu's.

Where are you going to build this in? Id say Australia would be the best bet with their tight competition with UK at close second. But yeah, if youre going to be in China most of the time, rock on.

Your build looks nice but yeah that 4080 is gonna be a huge dent to the head of the build value and youll need it. All of the gaming and adobe stuff would work very well but you might wanna consider 13700 for AutoCAD.

Id go for fresh out of the box regardless really, even if you fail in silicon lottery it doesnt justify the cost of someone binning it for you unless youre going to do some more permanent modification to the CPU or you really dont have time.

Ahh thanks, I will take a look, maybe upgrade to 13700k idk, i'll try to make a bit of more money to cover the difference I guess

Oh also I recommend the p12 max over the noctua as they have great performance and silence whilst being heaps cheaper. That and you dont wanna run those industrials much faster than the normal noctua's anyway due to noise.

I also recommend installing some fans in the bottom of the case can reuse the ek fans for that as it's just there for added gpu airflow.

All my savings are in CNY and Aus dont seem to have 4080/4090 fe, which is the only gpu to fit into the case.

ikr the pricing is stupid, but 1300us for 4080 is roughly in my budget, not the 2200us 4090.

what about 13700k? i want to undervolt, will the aio handle the 253w tdp? obviously it would be lower but still..

that is very fair cooling capacity and noise need to be balanced.

dont think there is space inside the case, you mean on the outside?

My bad was thinking of the other lian li one! Yeah this is only top fans.

Technically slim fans fit if you just lay em down on the bottom but it's not needed.

The 4080 fe however is not the right cooler for this case as it spits half of it's warm air against a metal plate. So I advice you opt for a more traditional cooler.
