g915 replacement keys

looking to replace some keys on my g915 will standard kailh switches work like these

You are aware these are soldered right? There is a good chance that removing the existing keycaps rips or breaks the traces so whilst it should technically be possible the chance of failure is very real.

i am an electronic eng so i have the tools to do the job without breaking stuff just wanted to know if they will fit or if logitech have made it so they dont

they probably will, but if the g915 needs 3 pin switches you can just clip the two black plastic legs to make them compatible

just need to be careful when desoldering bc you may need to pull out leds as well

ye i havnt opened the board yet at all to have a look at it but i assume the leds at inside the switches so it will all come off as one?

The LEDs are separate from, and are attached under the switches, so you won't need to do anything with them. That's pretty much standard for RGB switches, so not sure where they got the idea that you would need to desolder them.

€7.90 per 10 switches is on the expensive side for Kailh Choc switches, afaik. SplitKB has them for €6.99 per 10, including Dutch sales tax (assuming you're in EU)

some boaards have the leds like mounted is the gaps of the switches but ig thats only for older boards without smd components

oh the fact the leds are on the board makes the job a 100x easier then (my first time moding a KB) will be a nice easy job as i have all the tools for pcb repair
