I am looking to buy USB switch like below two switch my keyboard and mouse between my work computer and person computer.

However, reading from internet posts and customer reviews, current backflow can cause serious damages to USB port or even motherboard. Most of these USB switches doesn't mention anything about backflow protection. Is the current backflow legitimate danger to computer's usb port/motherboard? Or is it one of those issues where people are overreacting?

It could be an issue, but switches are obviously meant to handle that right.

Using KVM for years. I don't think I ever had a problem caused by such thing.

Even with cheap arse KVM switch that still have VGA port on it.
