Optimise my airflow?

Above pics shows the 4070 FE I installed yesterday. It works, and temps are ok, but I can't but help feel I could try harder with airflow. The 2nd fan of GPU, on the right as shown, blows up into the air cooler.

This is the view from the top. 

 

The right half of the heatsink (Chromax Black) covers roughly 1/4 of the fan output. I can't rotate the heatsink as the heatpipes will hit the ram. Otherwise an upwards flow could work, especially as this case has a mesh top.

 

GPU temps seem ok in current testing so I don't really "need" to change anything. Maybe I should check the ram temps on the group to the right but with how cool the GPU runs I can't see it being a problem. Might even find the extra airflow helps it more than it hurts.

 

Edit: I probably should say the case currently has a single exhaust fan at the back. It seems sufficient. I could fit more to the front, but it is solid panel so airflow there is only from tiny slits around the side. The top of the case has room for a few fans, with a mesh top. PSU doesn't really contribute to air moving as it has 0 rpm mode and hardly spins up even when loaded.

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticeably improve performance past 240mm and don't improve at all past 360mm. 9) RTFM.

GPU main temp idles around 40's C, 70's in more stressful games. I have kinda neglected airflow in general though.

Yeah, but those temps are fine arn't they?

Looking at my card, I have the same issue. 4080 FE top fan is slightly blocked by my NH-D15 and I've just never considered it an issue cause the temps are perfectly fine.

Doesn't really look like you can do anything else to improve airflow due to the 4070 FE cooler design dumping air from the right fan up towards the CPU cooler (damn that NH-D15 looks BIIGGG compared to the 4070 FE...I'm so used to graphics cards being bigger than the D15). 

 

No intake case fans??? I mean with those temps you don't need them but I guess due to the big size of that case, it can get air in relatively easy.

You already found the bottleneck. $100 gives you a Lancool 216 with all required fans. Everything else is just putting lipstick on a....

You could buy some cheap fans and try them in different positions to see where it helps. 

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.
