Hello everyone. I’m building my first computer since the windows 95 days. I’ve owned gaming rigs but got tired of having to buy a new system rather than upgrade (caugh caugh longtime Dell customer.) I have recently started my build. I have decided to build around the ryzen 5 7600x. That choice was made for me when I snagged it for 150.00 new on Amazon.

Anyway I live in an extremely hot environment during the summer. and When I say hot I mean it isn’t unusual to have weeks of 100+ degrees with 100% humidity. And my home isn’t exactly that well insulated. The windows aren’t great. That’s another story for a renters forum, not here. I’m trying to decide between getting a Noctua air system and most likely an EVGA RBG aio.

What does this forum think I should go with? I’ve always been terrified of aio systems leaking and destroying everything.

the thermalright peerless assassin is a really good budget cooler for only 40 bucks. But if you don't mind going with an aio check out the arctic liquid freezer ii 280. Normally better and cheaper than the competition, just make sure a 280 rad can fit in your system and you have a pump header

The ak620 is also a good air cooler

And the best air cooler is well the nhd 15. It is a bit of a chonkers tho

I don’t mind paying for quality. I just don’t want to not be able to run my rig in the summer because the environment is too hot to allow the Noctua to sufficiently cool the cpu.

I am also considering undervolting it.

I’ve watched a few videos and it seems the ryzen 5 7600x gets around a 10-15% bump in testing with an aio. That was in an open test bench and I’m almost certain it wasn’t done in the heat that my rig will be privy to during the hottest few months of the year

What are the temps in your room?

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

During the summer it isn’t uncommon to reach 100+F with 100 percent humidity for a month straight. My AC can’t keep up when it’s like that and the temps in my house can easily surpass 80-85f during the hottest part of the day.

I think that’s my next project after I complete my PC. That is if the landlord will allow me to use my own money to upgrade the windows in my home. I’ve rented the same place for over 5 years so hopefully they will.

But for now I just need to figure this out to complete my build. I’ve only got the psu and cpu cooling system left. I’ll get that this week.

Cpu is R5 7600x

B650 mobo

Intel Arc 750

Rosewill case

So your problem is humidity, not ambient temp. That's gotta be rough summer and winter.

What do you think of Rosewill? Heard of it but I know nothing about it.

What are you getting for the PSU and cooler?

Haven’t gotten the Rosewill yet. Just ordered it and the Arc 750 off Newegg yesterday.

Not sure on the PSU. I’m checking the tier list right now for my decision. Picking either a 750w or a 850w.

as far as the cpu cooler I’m not sure either. Haven’t decided on a Noctua or EVGA AIO. Starting to lean AIO since it is about to get really hot here
