Should i get 5800X3D i have budget for it. or should i upgrade something else ?

That. And a monitor meant for a mid-range GPU, not a 1080p.

On 1080p the 5600X bottlenecked the 6700XT in some situations, and nVidia GPU-s with the same performance need a stronger CPU and the 3080 is stronger meaning there's quite a bottleneck.

A 5800X3D would help a lot. A 1440p screen would help even more. And a combination would be ideal.

Hi i've recently switched from 6700XT to Game Rock 3080 non OC version.

I have weird feeling that my GPU is underperforming.

My pc specs

5600X

32Gb cl16 3200

rtx 3080 (ReBar Enabled)

850w Revolution D.F (old revision. gpu works on 2 rails)

WD Green 1TB 2.5 (Games)

WD Blue 500Gb M.2 SN 350 (System)

Why i think my GPU is underperforming

My friend has 1:1 identical build only he has Gigabyte Vision 3070 and 1440p Hz monitor

He gets same amount of FPS at 1440p that i get in 1080p 240hz same in-game settings

3D Mark Time Spy score is attached.

Try doing a DDU and see after that.

These scores seem pretty normal, seems you have a non OC 3080 (always under 2000MHz clock), I have same score with mine

Your 5600X also scores half of my 5900X, which makes sense (6 cores to 12)

Only explanation for your friends having same performance at 1440p than your 1080p is that you have a CPU bottleneck, so even a 4090 won't fare better

when i play new COD MW 2 Multiplayer or Warzone 2.0 it boosts to 2010-2015, i see it boosting on GPU heavy games only, other games it stays at 1870 temps are always under 70
