ps5 1440p

Go to solution Solved by FrowningHippo,

Hey. As someone who owns a PS5. It's quite hit or miss. Sometimes the PS5 will output normally on a 1440p monitor. Sometimes it won't. I am not sure if a official cause of this was ever established. There has been done tests on monitors: Monitor Table Tool - RTINGS.com to see which monitors work and which don't. But this table might not be accurate after all the system updates. I'll see if I can find the old topic on Reddit on this. Because the official Playstation Reddit used to moderate topics about this pretty hard.

Edit: So, it seems to come down to basically two things.

1. The display has to be 16:9.

2. The monitor must have native support for 1440p. Not simply force the resolution on a present monitor resolution.

Hello, i am looking to buy a ps5 since they are finally in stock. however. i hear that ps5 have some problems with 1440p and refresh rates. I have 2 1440p 140hz monitors and id like to use them on 120 hz with my ps5. Can anyone tell me more about his because i am lost.

Thanks

1440p 120hz should be doable on the PS5, it's easier for it run than 4K 120hz, however dual displays are not supported. And if I remember correctly I don't think it's 1440p native on the PS5 it's just upscaled 1080p. Though I could be wrong about the upscaling.
