  • I'm a Pc newby and I've build my first gaming rig about two years ago. Since then I've upgraded my GPU once and now I finally wanted to upgrade my CPU nad PSU because I knew that my CPU was bottlenecking my GPU. I've changed the PSU and the CPU and now my PC just won't start, and my GPU seems completly dead (fans are not spinning and there is a red light at the side of my gpu that blinks whenever I hold down the power button on the PC).

I tried to put in my old CPU and PSU but the problem still remains. Is there a way to check which component is at fault?

My rig:

MSI Tomahawk b450

Ryzen 5 1600x - Ryzen 7 5800x

Patriot Viper 32gb 3600mhz

AMD Radeon 6800xt

Be Quiet Pure Power 650w gold+ - ASUS Strix 850w Gold +

Did you change all the PSU cables when you switched the PSU to the 850w?

Yes I did, I even tried to use my old GPU, which seemed to work, well at least it showed signs of life and the fans moved, but it also didn't send a signal to my monitor. I checked all the cables and connections, but the PC wont boot. The motherboards's debug light puts the fault at the CPU, but its also doing that with my old CPU which worked perfectly until now.

Could the motherboard be at fault here?
