USB device not recognised...

Hoping this is the right category..

My wife has an HP Pavilion, I5 TD01-1023W desktop that constantly dings and puts up a dialog saying USB device not recognized. I have tried everything I could find to stop this. Uninstalled, updated driver, cleaned the ports, restarted, checked for updates, sfc and DISM, even the regedit hack. I've reset windows (11). Nothing works.

If I uninstall the device, it re installs itself. There are no driver updates. Windows is up to date. It does this even when NOTHING is plugged in to any USB port. I would knock it back down to Win 10 but I don't think that would help.

I'm going crazy over here. Is there anything else I can try?
