Display discrepancy

Hi all,

hoping someone can help identify this issue with a TN led lcd. Is it a dead pixel, stuck pixel, just damage to the plastic? Any suggestions to fixing or making it less noticeable?

edit: there is a blemish noticeable when the display is off that won’t wipe off, but I’m not sure if thats in addition to pixel damage or not.

thanks!

I'd suspect a manufacturing defect that became more visible over time.  I have a monitor with a dirty mark that appeared after a year or two which seems a similar thing.  I thought it was dirt on the screen, then dead pixels, but it became obvious its something else as its not uniform and clearly embedded between the LCD layers.

Yea it didn't seem to exactly fit any specific fault I could think of. It's certainly not a new monitor, bought it second hand.

Its not something I'd ever seen before and doubly frustrating as mine was just out warranty as I recall.
