I need someone who'll look at this with fresh eyes as I'm out of ideas now.

Sound from my external mic is not recognized by my pc. Everything was working perfectly, but today it isn't. I assume some windows update or nvidia driver install(as it also has NVIDIA high definition audio) messed it up. Windows playback device->recording shows my mic(it's set as a default recording device), but the voice isn't registered(bar doesn't move) but when I try with Windows Voice recorder I can hear my voice perfectly. What's going on here?

Don't have just a standalone mic to check it out, but the one build in my webcam, works.

Just as I've said, more less a week ago, when I was doing voiceover and recording videos, the mic in question worked perfectly. I just had some time where I haven't rec nothing and now wanted to get back to it - suddenly my mic doesn't work 😞

I just remembered. During this week of mic inactivity I installed Oculus VR software. This messes with audio and rec devices, so maybe that is the cause of this? But regardless, if mic in question is set as default device in system devices, there should be no problem. Right? And yet, there is....:(
