compatable motherboards

The motherboards are standard ATX size, with the mounting holes in all the standard places. Physically mounting the HP motherboard in a generic ATX case should be no problem.

The front panel header (where the power button, etc connects to the motherboard) is a little weird on these OEM workstation motherboards. It's not an insurmountable problem, but it's not always as simple as on a generic motherboard.

The IO shield is the metal plate that clips into the rectangular hole in the back of the case. The HP case has all the motherboard's port holes cut right into it, so there's no standard shield to move to a generic case. You can get a no-name plate from China for a few dollars, or just go without. It's not a big deal.

The power connectors on the HP motherboard are not the standard ATX 24+8 pin connectors. You have to buy adapters to make a standard power supply work. Again this isn't a big deal, but it's another "gotcha" you have to watch out for.

I think they're just ATX, but there's no official IO shield and you'll have to adapt the proprietary front panel header and power connectors. (The front panel header is well-documented, and a set of power adapters should be less than $20.)

Are you talking about motherboards from HP workstations?

They look ATX to me but as @Needfuldoer points out there's more to just chucking one of them in a regular case than that.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Can someone please tell me compatable cases with a z420 or z620 motherboard?

If it looks like the one in the ss below then it is atx so any atx case would be fine
