Hi all

I have a Psu 700w and it has 2 PCI-e 6+2 connectors but the second connector splits from the first 1 so i'm not sure if i can use it for a gpu with 8 + 4 connector.

I assume i can but i want to make sure before i plug in a 3070 so if anyone knows for sure thx in advance.

Yes, using a single daisy-chain cable with a graphics card is generally fine. If the power supply you're using isn't chinesium garbage, the power cable melting isn't a concern. What specific model PSU are you using?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Okey thx guess i'll need a new psu now .......

What's bad with this psu?

That's a pretty old design. "haswell ready" is the biggest indicator, haswell CPUs were relevant about a decade ago. Older units have been known to struggle with newer demanding graphics cards, the RTX 30 series in particular has very demanding power spikes on the higher end cards.

Are you shopping in the United States? There are some very affordable PSUs to recommend

No in Europe but i'm surprised tho because some sources say 220 w peak power use for a 3070.

If i add everything up i have total +-600W peak power.

Group regulated so it has a very bad voltage regulation with recent hardware.

Double forward so it can't handle powerspikes without coilwine and banging transformer.

Very low quality.

Bad or even missing protections.

Unfortunately it's not just the size of the power spike, but how fast it happens. The transient response is important, unfortunately that's not something you can find on a spec sheet

Most of corsair's options are affordable and good. CXM, CXF, TXM and such. Avoid the VS though, a bit too cheap.

AH k thx for the info......

I got some time..... still waiting for the release of those 4060 4050? so maybe prices for the 30 series drop some more......

Guess it's better not to risk my new mb and new gpu and buy a new psu.
