Our company needs a new computer for transcoding video files. Clients give us ProRes files and we transcode them to NotchLC. We currently do this on various peoples laptops and we "often" (enough that it is an issue) have the process fail such that no one feels comfortable leaving it overnight and assuming it will be good the next morning. I'm wondering two things:

1. What components would be most important for speeding that up? From the Adobe website it sounds like it would be core speeds as #1.

2. Is ECC recommended for something like this? Would that potentially help with the crashing part way through? The Adobe website doesn't mention ECC memory anywhere.

I've also reached out to Adobe but thought I'd ask here too.

Thanks!
