Budget (including currency): 2000 USD

Hello fellow nerds!
This is kinda my first build, so in true nerd fashion I have spent a consecutive two days trying to figure out what the heck is even all that.
The goalposts for the build are: Smooth 1440p Ultra wide gaming, high performance per dollar ratio, perhaps use my old 1080p monitor as second screen.
As a mild audiophile and musician, I am planning to add a sound card in the future.
^this point here is the main reason I am consulting the forums, because I got no clue how to pick the correct motherboard for this.
And do I go for DDR4 or 5 in the first place? Am I going to regret the cheaper 32gb ram?
Even though I don't care at all for future-proofing, my optimistic subconscious is worried that maybe I should? (But you'll have to convince me really hard for that one)

Anyways, you can see all the parts I selected in the pcpartspicker link provided.
My choices for CPU, SSD and Case are final. Also, I am highly confident that the RX 6800 XT 16gb is the correct choice for graphics.
Overall I am very happy with the pieces, but here comes my second problem that I need your help with;
I do not have budget to pay for this specific combo. 🙃
That's why I would love to hear some opinions and/or ideas how to neatly crush down the cost to 2000, or maaaybe 2100 USD.
All this of course while keeping compatibility and somewhat having the parts make sense together.

Thanks in advance!
Cheers

Hi, Would highly recommend this, much better performance than what you have got. 64gb of ram is overkill, go for 32gb. Also go for ryzen, it is cheaper but just as good as intel. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hCgBKp

You only need DDR4 it works good enough and this will easily get you 1440p on every game at a good FPS.

I would look into whether or not any of your specific programs require nvidia gpu to run. I don’t expect this for music programs but you never know.

If you need to save money I’d go for 32 gb ram unless you know you need 64gb. 1000 watts is overkill for your system so downgrading that will save money too potentially. You might be able to find a z690 (or other last gen mobo with bios flashback) for cheaper:

Yo, thanks for the suggestions!
Gotta say, I am fairly impressed/embarassed how much you managed to down the budget while also upping the gpu 😄 @StickyPC
The CPU and MoBo picks especially look great to me. Although I did tweak/revert some changes and so this is the current list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ChN6wc

I wonder what is the next best GPU just below that price class and if it is worth it or not? Because 2200 USD is my absolute limit.
And @shreshta yes, please go ahead, more combos to evaluate is always better 🙂
Just keep the case and ssd, it's a love at first sight type of situation :3

ummm... here you go better CPU, a large improvement in GPU, a better power supply, a better SSD, better cooling and a better platform than this list-

just make sure that you have a way to install windows, maybe get a windows key from CDKEYOFFER.com that tom keeps talking about(mores law is dead)

EDIT-

looks like you people forgot that the 4070ti can be a decent value in comparison to previous gen lol🤣

EDIT 2-

we all forgot that the guy is in germany where pc parts are more expensive

Hi, The list looks amazing. I just have one question.

Why the Samsung M.2? Sure it is an excellent drive but there are other options out there that are just as good but cheaper. Take for example this...

Western Digital Black SN770 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive

It's designed just for gaming and storage. I have used dozens on these and have never been disappointed.

Pricing and availability are very different between the US and Germany. Is there some reason you are using pcpartpicker.com rather than de.pcpartpicker.com?

On my ancient rig, boot times and loading screens have been my long time archnemesis, it's a deep trauma that can only be overcome with a divine vengeance.
Also I just think the Samsung Magician software looks neat.

so i made a list for our german friend😁-

This is basically perfect for me thank youuu! Here is my final selection: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/YDMCxs
So I went with the Z790-A since it advertises aaall the audio features kek
If you're missing the monitor that's because I'll look for a different one in a month or so.

Please take a last look, if there aren't any glaring issues with the combination I would like to press the order button.
And thanks everyone you helped me out for real

If the MSI MAG B760 Tomahawk WiFi DDR4 has the features you need you can save a bit. The Z790 is wasted on a locked CPU like the i5-13500.

looks good!!! i do think that a 4070 TI will be good for this build but other than that its solid.

and @PC HEROES the WD black SN770 does not have a dram chip which may be problematic in the long run but my personal favorite is the crucial p5 plus which has high endurance, a dram chip and low cost
