I would consider just buying a new(er) Laptop instead, the performance and power consumption will be way better.

I will find your Laptop thread and I will recommend an ITX build instead

Sure would be neat if there was something useful here, eh?

No. This laptop still usable and enough for me. But CPU is entry level

No point in buying a new one then, yeah.

The upgrade should work, but I'd check wether there was an option to get the Laptop with the X9100 from the factory or if anyone else has done the same swap, especially since the new CPU isn't dependant on the FSB.
It might be physically compatible, but I tried upgrading my ThinkPad T400 once and the processor wasn't recognized.

Probably, you wasn't installed latest BIOS.

a Russian was installed Core 2 Duo T9900 in P300-226. I asked him and he said yes you can but you will have ThrottleStop for undervolting

Oh yeah, the X9100 runs at a bit higher voltage than the T6400. I would recommend undervolting in any case, it can really save some power and lower heat output. The T9900 sounds like a safer bet in general, just make sure that you get the PGA version.
