help with two pc set up

hi all. not sure if this was the right thread, but yolo (as the kids say)

 

I have a 2 pc set up. PC A being the gaming pc and PC B being the recording and editing pc. The only connection they share is a display port out from PC A's gpu to PC B's capture card as a duplicate display. 

So why is it that when I boot PC B first, PC A doesn't do a boot cycle at all. Lights on in the case, but no post. 

 

I know the obvious answer is "just boot A then B" but when I console game and record on PC B, then I want to switch to pc gaming, I have to turn everything off to then turn it on in the correct order.

 

Any help is much appreciated.
